Mesa Amphitheatre
Sturgill Simpson's alter ego Johnny Blue Skies is going to be taking over the Mesa Amphitheatre on Tuesday, April 29th. He's gonna be singing his classic sad cowboy ballads with a mixture of new music from his latest album, Passage Du Desir. It's a neo-country music night for the ages.
You can be in the crowd, not only taking in Strugill's songs but all of the inside jokes and shenanigans that have become part of his on-stage persona. This dude's a vibe on his own. One of the best performers in the modern country music landscape, without a doubt. He's just a one-of-a-kind act! By the way, Sturgill Simpson's provided a warning for anyone who's coming out to the Mesa Amphitheatre on Tuesday, April 29th. No openers if you're on time, you're late! If you're new to the Johnny Blue Skies experience, then you're in for a treat. This is not going to be your average jolly country music show. "Sam," one of the tracks that fans love from Sturgill Simpson, is the perfect example of what you can expect from him. It's a rough song about loss that can hit you really deep. Perhaps one of the main reasons people listen to it is because it reminds them of someone they lost. Sturgill Simpson has a way of covering rough subjects in his music and then turning around with some of the inside jokes and other "weird" elements in his shows and softening the blow.
These concerts are like sharing your feelings with a friend. You're opening up that dark closet, but you want to reel them back in so things don't get too gloomy. To be honest, the current country music landscape is filled with smiling cowboys singing about love, which is great. There's also a place, though, for someone like Sturgill Simpson, who's a lot more on the dark side. If there's a way to describe the difference, it would be to say that your average country music concert is a beer-drinking affair. When Sturgill Simpson is on stage, though, you're probably going to want to be sipping something stronger. Yet the experience is completely worth it! This, again, is one of the best country music nights that you can be a part of.
The Mesa Amphitheatre is going to be divided into two sections for this event. If you want to be close to the stage, get a pass for the pit area. The other section is also going to be a general admission first come, first served area. No matter which tickets you decide to purchase, you're going to want to make sure that you arrive early. That's going to give you the best chance to take over a nice spot. Click that get tickets button now to be at this Sturgill Simpson concert.
