"I took a break from last year to focus on myself and even though it was a difficult decision at the time, I'm so happy I did," Peck said in an interview. "I feel healthier and happier than I've ever felt in my life, and I cannot wait to get back on the road."
So, it's the "Dead of Night," in the "Summertime" and this "Smalltown Boy" ain't found "No Glory in the West," and is thinkin' to himself... "Cowboys Are Frequently, Secretly Fond of Each Other." Yes, brand-new music and it is fabulous!
The masked rider, Orville Peck gallops out the gates on his Stampede Tour 2024, leaving North Carolina in May and making some corral stops through the cities of Atlanta, Columbus, Chicago, Toronto, St. Louis, and Los Angeles. As well as one boot kicking good time here in Mesa, Arizona on the 2nd of October 2024 at Mesa Amphitheatre. He brings numerous artists along for the literal ride of their lifetimes, Durand Jones, Debbii Dawson, The War And Treaty, Goldie Boutilier, Jaime Wyatt, Gold Star, Vincent Neil Emerson, and the two appearing here in Mesa, Nikki Lane, and Emily Nenni.
A new album is coming out, and you know what that means, an even skimpier mask!!! This has got to be one of the longest running face reveals ever. As Orville Peck gets ready to start his latest Tour, he dropped the first single from the Stampede album, a cover of Ned Sublette's, "Cowboys Are Frequently, Secretly Fond of Each Other," a song performed alongside none other than Willie Nelson himself. You can watch the music video down below, and become mesmerized by a well chiseled jawline, strawberry-blonde beard, and lips. And that recognizable torso. He also said in an interview, “There’s something coming soon, and it’s something that I don’t think anyone is really expecting.” so mysterious!!!
The new song, while being a little satirical, and tongue-in-cheek, gained a huge nod from the LGBTQ+ community, Peck said. "I think that the fact that Willie stands next to the entire LGBTQIA+ community by doing this song just shows what an amazing person he is, what a legend he is," he added. "It's a win for all of us because that’s true allyship. Someone who's completely unafraid to be right there next to us, there's no vagueness involved."
Originally penned in 1981 by Latin country musician Ned Sublette, this is the second cover of the “famous gay cowboy song” by Willie Nelson, who became the first high profile country artist to release an openly LGBTQIA+ song in 2006.
