“The thing with me is, you're never going to get an album that sounds homogenous," he told GRAMMY in an interview. "I'm a very proud musician, and I want to be able to showcase that I can make a lot of different types of songs.”
The man’s got some seriously good stuff in his new release. As hard as “2 Soon”, “Drunk”, “Beside You”, “Angel”, and more of his all-time hits stole the show, Requiem packs a punch with its wide range of influences from Queen, The Beatles, city pop, and more unique elements in the mix. Fans have casted their votes, and it seems the most popular favorites include “ID”, “Night”, “Dream”, “Bodies”, “Euphoria”, and so forth.
“Nothing is worse to me than the idea of making an album that sounds like my [previous] one,” Keshi explained how certain elements could be familiar, but just can’t be totally the same. With new influences on Requiem the man’s as daring as he can be, incorporating new sounds and genres to his dreamy soundscapes. His rock beats and prog hints definitely blend in.
Marking his biggest tour yet, Keshi will be joined by Mac Ayres and Starfall on this trek as the show’s special guests. “It's surreal in the sense that these are venues that people only dream about going to,” Keshi told USA TODAY, letting the thought of his biggest tour yet sink in.
