When you’ve got some of the most exciting shows coming in to serve unprecedented entertainment to fun loving folks, surely one could say that it has been more than eventful! The Mesa Amphitheater hosted many of Arizona’s most groundbreaking events – from music festivals, concerts, and comedy shows – the year was definitely rockin’ with tons of spectacles! On top of brilliant events, the venue also provided state of the art facilities. We’re talking top caliber sound and lights, the latest in stage rigging, excellent crowd management, facilities, and customer service! Music and entertainment fans got the best moments of the year right at the Mesa Amphitheater and there’s no mystery why! Just to tell you more about 2024’s grand spankin’ showdowns at the venue, we’ve prepared the most outstanding shows that came to Mesa Amphitheater!

Festivals 

The year started with the most fantastic festivals as Mesa Amphitheater opened the season with the inauguaral Mesa Food Festival, the Mesa Jazz Fest, and the Tough Luvv Fest. It’s a no brainer – when you’ve got the best bands, gastronomic food and drinks, and a guaranteed blast, people are coming in from far and wide. The Mesa Food Festival brought in the most sensational entertainers, including the riveting Grammy winning powerhouse, the Blues Traveler! That evening on Saturday, 17th February 2024, attendees were treated to a delectable experience as the festival brought in only the highly rated food vendors – from authentic cuisines, critically acclaimed artisanal grubs, and craft beers. It was indeed the most delicious experience of the season. 

From food fanatics to jazz enthusiasts – the February season was surely a great month of connoisseurs. The Mesa Jazz Festival was an immensely much anticipated event with organizers pulling in Arizona’s top jazz acts. Together, these groundbreaking performers served non-stop tunes for the whole day on Saturday, 24th February, 2024! Yes, the festival was a weekend rager that gathered some of the most passionate music fans! Just so you know, 2024’s line-up was more than phenomenal. Producer Doc Jones and friends lit up the stage with his magnificent sets and it was certainly an evening of great musical prowess and top caliber artistry.

Hip-hop fans were also treated to a thrilling one-night rager featuring the Tough Luvv Fest – mighty showdown that brought monumental acts like Three 6 Mafia and the City Morgue centerstage. This fantastic gig brought together highly rated mainstream and underground performers who delivered a plethora of genres, including rock, hip-hop, trap, metal, and tons more. From Soundcloud to the big stage, Tough Luvv Fest, which happened on Saturday, 9th March 2024, brought out all the stops for this one.

Concerts 

Punk

Spring season surely delivered some hits as Mesa Amphitheater hosted breathtaking spectacles. For starters, April opened with a bang as punk icons Social Distortion and Bad Religion delivered their mindblowing co-headlining show. It was a moment that was immensely awaited by punk fans and these two legends joining forces to deliver a tour was definitely one for the books. 

During fall, Dropkick Murphys made their way into town to wreak some havoc. The Massachusettes born celtic punk group performed brand new titles from their latest album, Okemah Rising, as well as tunes from their earlier releases. If you think Dropkick Murphy on stage was cool, wait till you find out that the show also featured riveting showdowns by Pennywise and the Scratch. 

Country

Speaking of legends, the month of April also brought in the king of outlaw country, Willie Nelson. When Willie comes, all the folk and outlaw fanatics are gonna be flocking in and thankfully, the venue’s ample space can easily accommodate up to 4,950 attendees. The show on Saturday 5th October 2024 was a massive hit as Nelson belted out originals like “I Never Cared For You,” “On the Road Again,” “The Party’s Over,” and “Blood Mary Morning.” The legend also performed a slew of covers from Hank Williams, Kris Kristofferson, Ed Bruce, and Merle Haggard.

In the fall season, fast rising star Orville Peck made waves with young audiences. The Stampede Tour definitely got the curiosity of country music fans across the nation – there’s no wonder Peck has been selling out shows left and right. His spectacle at the Mesa Amphitheater was no different. Orvill Peck had each single one person in the venue singing along that night on October 2nd 2024.

Reggae 

By the summer, the reggae rock phenoms were turning up Mesa Amphitheater. Iration and Pepper dropped by on Wednesday 21st August 2024 to bring in the highly awaited summer tour, Daytrippin in Paradise. The co-headlining gig was a long time coming occasion with fans begging these two monumental acts to join forces. Finally, the show totally happened and there was no better way to see them than their remarkable showdown at the Mesa Amphitheater. As if these astounding, crowd-stirring co-headliners weren’t enough, Iration and Pepper also brought in fantastic special guests DENM and Artikal Sound System. As always, these two bands, along with their supporting act performed feel good music that put audiences in a great mood. Upbeat numbers definitely had the entire audience jumping around in unison. It was definitely the most energizing greeting to the summer season.

Latin music

Another show worth talking about is the groundbreaking performance by Dominican Republic powerhouse, El Alfa. The “Tarzan” singer brought monumental world music to the heart of Arizona on Friday, 12th September, 2024. Hailed as one of the leading forces in dembow and reggaeton, El Alfa delivered the best of Latin music to his Arizona fans. In a statement, El Alfa shared, “Making dembow, putting people to dance and having fun, we’re the best at that,” El Alfa.” He was definitely not wrong as the audiences were fired up with his plentiful setlist and they danced all evening to terrific Carribean, reggaeton, and hip-hop tunes.

Rock/Metal

All throughout the year, the best of rock music has been gracing the Mesa Amphitheater. Its ample space makes it the perfect mosh pit destination. Whether you’re content with some intense headbanging or have to go completely bonkers and thrash against fellow metalheads, the Mesa Amphitheater is guaranteed to deliver the best experience. This 2024, top rated rock bands like Bad Omens, Skillet, Seether, and Dropkick Murphys brought the house down with their headbang worthy sets. Bad Omens’ sold out gig was absolutely an evening to remember. The band, known for their phenomenal breakthrough with their latest album The Death of Peace of Mind, delivered a 16-song set with a stunning encore. Meanwhile, Skillet and Seether delivered grunge like no other as they joined forces on Friday 11th October 2024. The show is a massive headbang fest that had audiences singing along super loud. 

It’s a year of monumental performances, grand showdowns, and superb showcases! Mesa Amphitheather brought in the most exciting spectacles on this side of the city! The outdoor concert destination is definitely instrumental in Arizona’s bustling music scene. Since 1979, the venue has welcomed tons of music fans, spectators, families, and more. An archetype of modern entertainment, the venue continues to provide the best facilities. From top tier sound and lights, clean amenities, to lush green lawn, excellent security, and entry and exit process.

“Mesa Amphitheatre is a nice place to enjoy an outside concert. You can pay extra for reserved seating or spread out a blanket on the lawn. There are plenty of concession stands and bathrooms. I also liked that they gave out free earplugs for the concert that I attended,” said Patrick H. from Scottsdale.
